Shared Spaces

The kitchen, the lounge and the terrace belong to every guest — and this is where the house stops being a small hotel.

A four-room house has no lobby, no bar and no reception desk. What it has is a kitchen you can actually cook in, a lounge where dinner ends slowly, and a terrace with the whole Algarve in front of it. Those three rooms are the difference between sleeping in Faro and staying in Faro.

The kitchen

It is a full kitchen, not a kitchenette, and it is open to every guest. We don't serve breakfast — what we hand you instead is the whole kitchen, and there's a minimarket on site for whatever the morning is missing.

The lounge

Next to the kitchen, with a TV and sofas: the place where dinner ends slowly. It is the reason so many guests write that they met other travellers here — four rooms is enough for conversation and not enough for a crowd.

The terrace

This is the signature, and it is an açoteia — the flat, walled Algarvian rooftop that has always been where the day ends here. From it you get everything at once: the serra to the north, the sea to the south, the town below. At night the town lights up. This is why the house is called Miradouro — a viewpoint.

There is no breakfast service

We say it here, before you book, because that's how you avoid the surprise at nine in the morning. No breakfast service, no buffet. What there is: a full kitchen open to everyone, a minimarket on site, and a kettle with tea and coffee in every room.

Meeting the other guests

The kitchen and lounge are shared, and it shows up again and again in the reviews: dinners that start with two people and end with six, maps open on the table, advice about the ria traded over the counter. Anyone who would rather keep their own company has a balcony and a kettle — nobody has to socialise.
